Rochford Church, Town & Reservoir
Ruffs, Riddles and Royal Rubies in Rochford!
Rochford's history is hiding a scandal… and someone's pinched the proof. Legend says Anne Boleyn once stashed a priceless gem and a rather spicy letter at Rochford Hall - the kind of royal gossip that could've caused a right Tudor tumble. Now the letter's vanished, and a line-up of suspicious locals are all looking a bit too pleased with themselves. Enter Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Stone, ready to put the case back in "case closed".
This self-guided Detective Mystery takes you from Rochford Station around the town's historic heart - St Andrew's Church, Rochford Hall, the market square and out to the calm of the reservoir. You'll be hunting for sneaky clues on buildings, memorials, signs and churchyard nooks while soaking up stories of royal links, ghostly goings-on and local legends. It's a compact but clue-packed stroll, perfect for family sleuthing with plenty of pause-for-a-snack moments baked in.

Once switched on, it'll flood Essex with "Badger Grey" - a brew so grim it could turn any teddy bear tea party into a muddy meltdown. Thankfully, Stripes is also hilariously forgetful, so he's scattered coded clues about the woods and villages to remind himself how to run the thing. Handy for us!
Your mission is a self-guided Spy Trail through ancient woodland paths, leafy lanes and the peaceful green of Hawkwell. You'll dodge badger lookout posts, follow intel trails near Badgers Mount, and crack tea-themed riddles on the way.
