The Lost Treasure of Robin Hood's Bay - Can YOU Solve the Secret?

The days of notorious smugglers sneaking their goods through Robin Hood's Bay might be long gone, but one unsolved mystery still remains… the whereabouts of one last huge hoard! A map and some scribbled notes belonging to the infamous 18th-century smuggler, Count D'Monet, have been uncovered by the Intrepid Explorer Society. The Count was so full of himself that he boasted that no adventurers would ever have the skills to navigate the narrow lanes or the brains to crack the tricky clues. His great-great-great-grandson, Owen D'Monet, is just as big-headed as his ancestor and is bragging that he could easily find these items… he just can't really be bothered right now! Can YOU pull yourselves together, get off your backsides, and use your top exploring skills to locate the Count's goods?

Please Note:

The route of this Trail involves steep climbs and descents, narrow paths, cobbles and lots of steps. It is therefore unsuitable for pushchairs or wheelchair users.

There are public toilets at the start and halfway along the route.

There are plenty of refreshment opportunities including pubs, cafes and fish and; chip shops. If taking a picnic, check the tide times if you plan to picnic on the beach as there is no beach access at high tide.

The beach is also a great spot for rock pooling and fossil hunting so plan your trip at low tide to make the most of this opportunity.
