The peaceful town of Northallerton is under threat from the monstrous medic, Dr Doom. Fed up with the town's bustling streets, he has devised a wicked plan to put a damper on everyone's fun. With a special ingredient in the livestock feed at the market, Dr Doom's device will release helium and cause the cattle and sheep to inflate and float into the sky, blocking out the sunlight and plunging the town into darkness. It's lucky that pigs can't fly, but residents are still worried about the impact on their historical market town. The only hope is for top-secret agents to solve the clues and deactivate the device before it's too late. Are you up for the challenge?
Spy Mission Through Northallerton - Can YOU Save the Town?
Get ready for an exciting and immersive self-guided Spy Mission Trail through the charming town of Northallerton. As you follow the route, you'll need to use your spy skills to crack the code and complete the mission, just like a true secret agent. Starting and finishing in the main car park near the Tourist Information, the Trail will take you through the market street and past the town's historical landmarks.
Keep your eyes peeled for a 400-year-old house and the many historical pubs that have been serving residents and visitors for years. But beware, Dr Doom is always one step ahead, and only the most daring agents will be able to defeat his devious plan and save the town from darkness.

Northallerton is located in the Vale of Mowbray and at the northern end of the Vale of York. As well as being the administrative centre of North Yorkshire, it is also an affluent market town and major retail centre for the area. It is rich in local history due to its position on the old main route from London to Edinburgh, still followed by the mainline railway today.
As you explore Northallerton with this Trail, learn about the rich history of the town, discover a house over 400 years old and admire the many historical public houses serving residents and visitors of the town.
This Trail starts at and finishes near the main car park near Tourist Information and explores the main market street and surrounding historical landmarks of the town centre.
There is a park with a children's playground and picnic tables near the start of the Trail. Refreshments are available at numerous pubs, cafes and shops in the town centre and along the route. Regrettably, the public conveniences are closed but toilets are available upstairs in the town hall during the week and customer toilets are located in many cafes and pubs as well as in the main Tesco and Sainsburys supermarkets very close to the town centre.
The Trail starts at Tourist Information in the main town car park. The cheaper long stay parking is towards the rear of the car park (DL7 8LZ). On foot, Tourist Information is signed from the town centre. Northallerton is also served by several local bus and train services.
