The Missing Chocolate Mastermind - Can YOU Solve the Sweet Mystery?

** IMPORTANT ** This Trail has been designed to be completed by travelling along the East Lancashire Railway by train, for which separate charges apply. See the East Lancashire Railway site for details of charges, operating times and timetables. Whilst it could be completed by car, the Trail contains clues within Bury station building which is closed outside of railway operating times.

The annual Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival is just around the corner, and the excitement is palpable among the chocaholics of the town. But when world-famous chocolate maker, Billy Bonka, is found slumped in his carriage on the Chocolate Express, the festivities quickly turn into a sweet mystery. With evidence scattered along the train tracks like chocolate buttons, it's up to YOU to put on your detective hat and solve the case.

A Delicious Treasure Hunt Through East Lancashire

Are you ready for a fun-filled day out with family and friends? Look no further than the East Lancashire Railway, where an exciting self-guided Treasure Hunt awaits. Starting at Bury Bolton Street station, you'll journey through the quaint riverside village of Irwell Vale and the bustling market town of Ramsbottom, following the route of the railway line.

As you explore, keep an eye out for sneaky clues hidden within the stations and along the route. Chief of Police Evan Acklew needs YOUR help to solve the case and put the missing chocolate mastermind behind bars. But be careful-this is no time for chocolate distractions!

Get ready for a day of mayhem on the Chocolate Express… Can YOU solve the sweet mystery?

Before You Set Off

Please Note:

Clues 1 - 4 of this Trail are set within Bury's Bolton Street station, which often operates restricted opening hours. Those hours are subject to change at short notice but can be seen via a Google Search here. For complete peace of mind, we would however recommend telephoning them on 0333 320 2830 to make sure that they are open before you intend to complete the Trail.
