The Sweet Spy Mystery - Can YOU Save Bath's Prized Cakes?

Something sinister is brewing in the city of Bath. Rumours are swirling about a local sugar baron, Dr Ivor Super-Sweet-Tooth, who has gone missing after allegedly concocting an evil plan to increase the sugar content in all of Bath's cakes and pastries. With the help of his trusty laptop and a series of hidden clues, he is determined to boost his dwindling sales of sugar and cause a cake-tastrophe for the health of locals and visitors alike.

As one of our top agents and cryptologists, it's up to YOU to solve the clues, crack the code, and stop the Dodgy Doctor's plan before it's too late!

Spy Mission Through Bath - Parks, Abbey & Gardens

Prepare for an immersive and family-friendly Spy Mission as you explore the culture and heritage of Bath on this self-guided adventure. From the stunning 18th-century Georgian architecture to the majestic Bath Abbey, you'll uncover exciting stories around every corner that bring the streets to life in dazzling detail.

But beware-Dr Ivor Sweet is on the loose, and he's not afraid to play dirty. With clues hidden at his Sugar Beet farm and throughout the city, you'll need to use all of your spy skills to stay one step ahead and save the day.

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Bath, there are a few things you need to know...

Unfortunately, this route isn't suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs due to narrow streets and steps along the way.

Bring your four-legged friends along, but please note that some parks may require you to keep pooches on leads.

The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Manvers Street (BA1 1JZ). However, we would suggest using one of Bath's Park and Ride services - especially during busy periods.

There are some fantastic events in Bath`s calendar, including the Bath Festival, Jane Austen Festival and some amazing Christmas Markets. You may find that during these events, some of the clues may become obstructed or difficult to access. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Bath Visitor Centre.

There are public toilets at Clue 07 (charged at 20p), and the route passes several pubs, restaurants and a few cafes along the way. We recommend packing supplies and stopping for a picnic in one of the parks.

Looking for more things to do in Bath? Make a day of it and visit the famous Roman Baths or spend your afternoon in Jane Austen's shoes with a trip to the Jane Austen Centre, a stop for high tea and a 'constitutional' around the Georgian Garden? Or, challenge yourself to one of our other Bath Trails to uncover more twisting tales about the city!
