I spy, with my little eye, somewhere beginning with 'I'. Yes, it's Inverurie, an area full of spies! Come and join our TOP agent, Jane Pond (0077), on a thrilling Spy Mission Trail through the charming town of Inverurie. As you follow the Trail route, you'll encounter fun and sneaky clues set on existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments, all while enjoying a family-friendly day out with your loved ones.
Treasure Hunt Through Inverurie - Riverbank & Town Centre
Get ready for an immersive and exciting self-guided Treasure Hunt that will take you through the scenic and historic areas of Inverurie. Starting at Kellands car park just off the High Street, you'll explore the sights of the town centre, search for clues along the banks of the River Don, and even visit a Pictish cemetery before returning to the start point.
Ann Onymous, a local inhabitant and former employee of GCHQ, has disappeared after making comments on social media about her flashy cars and regular holidays to redacted locations. But before she vanished, she left behind a curious combination box and a series of Clues, found by her housekeeper. Now, it's up to YOU, Special Agents, to solve the Clues and find the combination to the box without triggering the defence mechanisms.

Navigating The Route
This is a circular spy mission through Inverurie’s riverbank paths, cemetery and town centre, with agents following pavements, paths and some trickier sections as they gather intel and crack the code.
The route includes steps (notably down to the riverbank), uneven sections and varied terrain, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Take great care near roads and crossings, and be especially cautious along the river path where there is open water.
Getting There
Time to deploy your agents and begin the mission:
Kellands Car Park, Barclay Road (AB51 3QP) - Your undercover base and official mission start point.
You’ll be on foot from here, so make sure your team is ready before setting off.

Public toilets can be found near Market Place / Station Square (around Clue 15) along the route.
Bring Your Furry Sidekicks
Four-legged agents are welcome on this mission.
With riverside paths and town streets to explore, it’s a good outing for canine companions - just keep leads handy near roads and especially along the riverbank.
Food & Drink Stops
Agents, plan your refuelling wisely!
There are opportunities to grab snacks and refreshments around Market Place and Station Square (Clues 13 to15).
For a more relaxed break, Kellands Park at the end of your mission makes an excellent picnic spot - perfect for a post-mission debrief once the code has been cracked.
