The Case of the Vanishing Bees - Can YOU Save Frodsham?

Loopy beekeeper Beatrice Buzby loves eating honey so much she wants to keep all the honey bees in Frodsham to herself. So she's cunningly created a machine to generate sound waves to attract all the bees to her hives and hidden it somewhere on Frodsham Hill. If she succeeds in her fiendish plans, there will be no bees left to make honey for anyone else in Frodsham. Luckily, world-famous scientist A P Culturist has spotted what she's up to but needs an elite team of special agents (YOU) to help save the day!

Treasure Hunt Through Frodsham - Market Town & Hillside

Slippery spies at the ready - we've got an assignment for you! Your self-guided spy mission will have you creeping around the market town of Frodsham, nestled beside Frodsham Hill. With a fascinating and rich architectural history dating back to the 13th century, you'll be sure to unearth hidden gems and unlock twisting tales as you hunt down the sneaky clues. But don't get too distracted by your pretty surroundings…

Frodsham is abuzz with a sinister scheme! Loopy beekeeper Beatrice Buzby loves eating honey so much that she's created a machine to attract all the bees to her hives. If she succeeds in her fiendish plans, no bees will be left to make honey for anyone else in Frodsham. Luckily, Beatrice has unknowingly scattered clues around the town, which will reveal the device's deactivation code. We need the best agents (YOU!) to follow the route, crack the code, and save the day. Good luck!

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Frodsham, there are a few things you need to know...

Unfortunately, the route isn’t friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs due to steep hills and unavoidable steps.

There is one clue in an area where pups are prohibited, so please only bring your tracker dog along if a member of your team can wait with them while you crack the clue.

The closest car park to the Trail start point is at Castle Park House and Gardens (WA6 6SD), where your mission begins, or at Moor Lane pay and display (WA6 7AE), just a 10-minute walk away.

There are some fantastic events in Frodsham’s calendar, including a weekly Thursday market, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful town. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. We recommend checking for events before you set off on your mission.

There are public toilets available towards the beginning, Clue 17 and the end of the Trail, and the route passes several cafes and snack shops along the way.

Looking for more things to do in Frodsham? Make a day of it and take a peek inside Castle Park House to learn more twisting tales about Frodsham, or explore its gorgeous gardens.
