Captain Conwii's Quest for the Missing Doubloons

Ahoy, mateys! Join Captain Conwii on a daring quest to find the missing doubloons and reclaim the treasure for the town of Conwy!

Treasure Hunt Through Conwy's Old Town & Harbour

French pirate Jacques Custarde snuck into Conwy harbour under cover of darkness, stole a priceless hoard of doubloons from the castle, and fled before sunrise. But fear not, Captain Conwii has captured Custarde's ship and crew, and a map with clues to the treasure's location. It's up to YOU to follow the trail, solve the puzzles, and find the stolen loot!

Embark on a self-guided treasure hunt through the medieval walled town of Conwy, where you'll dodge booby traps and evade rival treasure seekers as you explore historic buildings like the smallest house in Wales, and landmarks such as the Telford Suspension Bridge and Toll House. Are you ready for this swashbuckling adventure?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Conwy, there are a few things you need to know...

The route is not deemed pushchair or wheelchair friendly mainly because of the steep hills along the way.

Bring your four-legged friends along! This Trail is suitable for dogs, but you will need to keep them on leads and some restrictions may be encountered.

The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Morfa Bach (LL32 8FZ), less than a minute's walk away.

There are some fantastic events in Conwy’s calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful town. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. Please check for any events before you set off.

There are public toilets available towards the beginning and middle of the Trail and the route passes several pubs and a few cafes between the middle and end.

Looking for more things to do in Conwy? Make a day of it and visit the National Trust's Aberconwy House or Cadw's Conwy Castle to learn more twisting tales about the town.
