The Great Cake Heist - Can YOU Help UNESCO Recover Their Recipe?

The United Nations Espionage Secret Cake Organisation (UNESCO for short) is in trouble! Their top secret Victoria sponge recipe has been stolen by the notorious Sharon Nuffin, CEO of "Takes The Biscuit". She's locked it away, determined to keep the delicious cake all to herself. But with your help, can UNESCO foil Sharon's plans and recover their beloved recipe?

Spy Mission Through Canterbury - World Heritage City

Gather around, secret agents! We need your help to save UNESCO's Victoria sponge recipe. Your mission is to follow a self-guided trail through the historic centre and green parks of Canterbury, a UNESCO World Heritage City. Along the way, you'll uncover fascinating stories from the city's ancient past.

This won't be a walk in the park… The stakes are high, and Sharon Nuffin is a formidable foe. But with your cunning skills and sharp wit, can you solve the clues, crack the code, and recover the recipe before it's too late?

The fate of UNESCO's Victoria sponge is in your hands… Are YOU up for the challenge?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Canterbury, there are a few things you need to know...

The Trail visits parks that close at dusk, so give yourselves plenty of time to complete these sections before setting off.

Unfortunately, this route isn't suitable for wheelchair users as you will encounter a very steep bank and some narrow bridges with step access along the way. However, those exploring with pushchairs should find this manageable.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that it is a busy city centre, so dogs will need to be kept on leads.

The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Queningate (CT1 1NG), just a five-minute walk away. Or why not try Canterbury's fantastic Park and Ride service?

There are some fantastic events in Canterbury's calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful city. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. Please check for events before setting off.

There are public toilets available at Clues 04, 08 and 12. The route passes several pubs and a few cafes along the way, as well as some great picnic opportunities!

Looking for more things to do in Canterbury? Make a day of it and uncover more twisting tales of Canterbury's past by visiting Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey or Westgate Towers Museum. If you're up for another challenge, you could take on our other Canterbury Trail and unleash your inner treasure seeker!
