This Trail can be completed as either a linear driving Trail with 2.5 miles of walking, or as a longer walking Trail involving a 7 mile round trip.

The route includes well-maintained gravel footpaths and some riverside paths which could be muddy. Whilst mainly flat, there are some steps and short steep sections.

Bolton Abbey is open daily from 9am. Car Park charges apply – your parking ticket allows you to park in any car park on the Bolton Abbey Estate all day. Parking charges and closing times for the grounds vary with the season – check for details.

There are ample public conveniences and refreshment opportunities along the Trail. Bolton Abbey is also ideal for enjoying a picnic along the riverside.
