The town of Margate is buzzing with excitement for the upcoming launch of a festival featuring the work of renowned local artist Emma Tracey. But disaster strikes when her most famous piece, "Europa, Adieu", is stolen. A guard was found unconscious nearby, and police are investigating several suspects from the art underworld. Could one of them be trying to sell Emma's masterpiece on the black market?

With Clues scattered throughout Margate, we need the help of brave detectives to comb the area for fingerprints and uncover the truth. Are YOU up for the challenge?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Margate, there are a few things you need to know...

The route isn't friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs due to unavoidable steps and steep stretches.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that dogs will need to be kept on leads. Dogs may be able to access the beach as well - subject to seasonal restrictions.

The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Trinity Square (CT9 1HR), just a 10-minute walk away; however, there is a slightly closer car park with a max. four-hour stay at Market Street (CT9 1ED).

There are some fantastic events in Margate's calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful seaside retreat. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. Please check for events before setting off.

There are public toilets available near Clue 17, and the route passes several refreshment stops, snack shops and ice cream parlours for a post-investigation reward! There are no children's play areas on the route, but there is the beach, which is great for picnics in good weather.

Looking for more things to do in Margate? Make a day of it and visit Turner Contemporary to examine more masterpieces or investigate the superbly strange Shell Grotto. For some classic seaside shenanigans, dart through Dreamland vintage theme park for fantastic fun for the whole family.
