Save Sheffield Snackers' Shameful Spillages!

Evil genius Dr Stayne Less has become so fed up of people eating loudly with their metallic utensils, it's actually putting him off his plans for total world domination. To fork out some revenge on these noisy nibblers, Dr Less has created an elaborate device which, when activated, will cause all pieces of cutlery within a 10-mile radius to become very bendy; thus meaning these slurpy Sheffield snackers will start spilling their goodies all down themselves! This device is on a random timer, so it's on a knife-edge to know exactly when it'll go off. Here at Spy HQ we are looking to employ some top secret agents (YOU!) ready to chow down on the clues to reveal the deactivation code before it's all too late. Just don't expect this information to be spoon-fed as you try to give Dr Less his just desserts...

Self-Guided Spy Mission Through Industrial Sheffield

We need your help, agents! Your self-guided spy mission Trail will take you through the industrial side of Sheffield. Tiptoe past the cathedral, gather intel through the historic streets and dodge detection beams beside the quays. Always keep a sharp eye out for vital clues and enemy agents!

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Sheffield, there are a few things you need to know...

The route isn’t friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs due to cobbles and a steep slope.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that it is a busy city centre, so dogs will need to be kept on leads.

The closest long-stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Pennine Five (S1 2DD) or Solly Street (S1 4DE), a three to six-minute walk away from your first clue. You could also try Sheffield’s fantastic Park and Ride service or use the tram to reach your mission zone.

There are some fantastic events in Sheffield's calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful city. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Sheffield Visitor Information.

There aren’t any public toilets along the route, but the Bus Interchange near Clue 04 has pay-to-use toilets. The route passes several quirky pubs and some shops and cafes along the way.

Looking for more things to do in Sheffield? Make a day of it and visit some of the fascinating attractions along the way, such as Sheffield Cathedral, the Winter Garden or the Millennium Gallery. You could even challenge yourself to our Sheffield – Heart of the City Trail and let out your inner treasure seeker!
