Before You Set Off
Before You Set Off
Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Newquay (Tewynblustri), there are a few things you need to know...
Please do not attempt this Trail after heavy rain - the boating lake towards the end of the route may flood, meaning you won't be able to complete your treasure hunt.
Unfortunately, the route is not friendly for wheelchair users or pushchairs as you encounter some steep hills, as well as a stretch of uneven terrain.
Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that you will encounter some busy roads and stretches of open water, so dogs will need to be kept on leads.
We recommend parking in Trenance car park at Newquay Zoo (TR7 2LZ), where the Trail begins. There is overflow parking behind Waterworld if the main car park is full.
There are some fantastic events in Newquay's calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful seaside town. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. We recommend checking for events before you set off on your quest.
There are public toilets available near Clues 08, 12 and 16. You'll pass snack shops and refreshment stops between Clues 10 and 14. Why not pack a picnic to enjoy at Clue 07 or Clue 16?
Looking for more things to do in Newquay? Make a day of it and explore some of the town's attractions. Newquay Zoo is open year-round, and the immersive Pirate's Quest can be visited during the spring and summer months. If you fancy another challenge, have a go at our Newquay detective mystery Trail!
