The Great Yarm Spy Mission - Uncover REEL's Dastardly Plan!

Intelligence has revealed that the notorious REEL (Really Evil Espionage League) is plotting to take control of Yarm. Their latest scheme involves creating a device that will slice through the end of town, diverting the river and leaving an island in the middle, protected by a new moat. Not only will this cut off several homes and businesses from the mainland, but any civilians left behind will be forced to join their terrible training program!

This is where YOU come in, our top undercover agents! It's up to you to unravel the intelligence, solve the clues, and crack the code that will deactivate the device. Good luck out there, Squad!

Spy Mission Through Yarm - Can YOU Save the Town?

Looking for a fun day out with family and friends? Then join the Great Yarm Spy Mission Trail and explore the town in a whole new way! As you follow the route, you'll solve sneaky clues set on existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments, just like a true secret agent.

The Trail begins and ends in the middle of the wide high street, surrounded by beautiful Georgian buildings. Along the way, you'll walk under the giant arches of the half-mile long viaduct and discover a stone bridge more than 600 years old.

Are YOU ready to take on the REEL and save Yarm from their evil plans?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Please Note:

Yarm is a small town on the border of North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley. It's almost surrounded by a loop of the River Tees, similar geography to both the City of Durham and Warkworth in Northumberland.

Occasionally, when the river is very high, the town's floodgates are closed. This means that parts of the Trail would be inaccessible during these times.

Route: The Trail starts and ends in the middle of the high street (TS15 9AH). This is a very wide street with beautiful Georgian buildings, independent shops and many places to eat and drink. As you follow the route, you'll discover some fascinating facts and see some incredible sights. You'll walk under the giant arches of the half-mile long viaduct and discover a stone bridge more than 600 years old. There are usually ducks and other water-birds here on the Tees, and sometimes you can watch canoeists enjoying 'messing about on the river'!

Facilities: As a lot of the Trail leads you along the high street of Yarm, there are plenty of opportunities for refreshments in the number of cafes, pubs and restaurants along the way. There are public conveniences available in the Town Hall at the start and end of the Trail.

Parking: There is pay and display parking all along and just off Yarm High Street
