The Wicked Wetherby Witches - A Family-Friendly Adventure!

The fun-loving town of Wetherby is under threat from the notorious Wetherby Witches. These wicked sisters have always been jealous of the town's joy and happiness, and now they have hatched a plan to ruin all the fun. Armed with a powerful device that can open a wormhole to the past, they plan to go back in time and steal old spells that will put a damper on anyone's spirits. Laughter, smiles, and even smirks are now forbidden, and anyone caught breaking the rules may face a terrible fate. But when their latest trick goes too far, it's up to you to stop them!

Spy Mission Through Wetherby - Can YOU Save the Town?

Are you ready for an exciting and immersive adventure through the town of Wetherby? Join us on this self-guided Spy Mission Trail where you'll follow in the footsteps of top secret agents and uncover the truth behind the Wetherby Witches' wicked plot. As you journey through the town, you'll encounter sneaky clues hidden in historic buildings, permanent features, and intriguing monuments.

Your mission starts and ends at the scenic weir on the River Wharfe, where you'll be briefed on the Witches' plans and the code to deactivate their device. From there, explore the riverside and historic centre of Wetherby, discovering hidden gems like the Shambles and a Georgian Bath House, all while cracking the clues and stopping the Witches before it's too late!

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Please Note:

This Trail explores the historic market town of Wetherby, finishing at the weir. The Trail mainly follows paths, pavements and quiet lanes with a section along a grassy riverside path, which can be muddy, so suitable footwear is recommended.

The Trail starts at Wilderness Car Park (off mini roundabout by river bridge LS22 6RF). If full, follow parking signs from the exit to Hallfield Ln (LS22 6JB). Parking is also available at Crossley Street (LS22 6RT) and the Leisure Centre (LS22 5FN).

The Trail visits Jubilee Gardens which open until 4pm during Winter and 7.30pm in Summer. Also, as part of the Trail follows two riverside paths, these sections may become inaccessible at times of extreme flooding.

There are plenty of opportunities for refreshments in the town as there are some excellent cafes, restaurants and coffee shops. There are public toilets available in The Shambles area, near the market place towards the end of the Trail.
