A trail of clues awaits in

Sandwich

Attention all intrepid explorers! The town of Sandwich is in need of your help. The notorious Captain Willoughby Eaton's precious Black Pearl has been stolen and held for ransom. But fear not, for the Exploration HQ has put out a call for the bravest adventurers to embark on a thrilling self-guided treasure hunt through the historical town, following a series of clues to retrieve the priceless gem.

The Quest for the Pearl of Sandwich

Legend has it that Captain Eaton returned from his travels with an enormous, perfectly round South Sea black pearl, which he gifted to the town of Sandwich. But last week, the precious gem was stolen from the Town Council's vaults, along with a note challenging adventurers to earn its return. An island map and a set of clues were also left behind, and it's up to YOU to follow the trail and uncover the location of the hidden pearl.

Get ready for an immersive adventure as you dodge booby traps in the town centre, evade rival treasure seekers along the banks of the River Stour, and bravely search near the town's renowned cricket club for vital clues.

Are you ready to be a gem and embark on this exciting quest? The town of Sandwich is counting on you!

More Information:

Please Note:

Unfortunately, this Trail is not marked as wheelchair or pushchair friendly due to some steps and narrow pavements encountered along the route. Lighter pushchairs or buggies may be able to be taken though, if you are happy to carry them up or down a few steps occasionally.

The Trail is also dog friendly but has some areas of restricted access, so please keep your scout dogs on leads along these stretches. There are however some parks and nice places to walk dogs close to the route of the Trail, so four-legged adventures can let off some steam here!

Toilets are available at the start point and around the area of Clue 11. There are also plenty of opportunities to stop for refreshments at any of the shops and cafes along the route.

Mini Explorer Club

We have three super duper themed Clubs for your child to enjoy as part of their Treasure Trail experience.

Perfect for 4-8 year olds, the concept behind the Clubs is that your child will get a bundle of goodies to excite them about their forthcoming Trail experience, something to keep them entertained whilst travelling to and from the Trail, and something to be given on completion of the Trail as a keepsake.
