Saltburn-by-the-Sea - The Great Wave Caper!

Attention all agents! The idyllic seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea is under threat from the sinister SEA (Sinister Espionage Agency). These evil spies have disguised their underground lair as a humble coffee shack, but don't be fooled - they have a devious plan to make Saltburn the world's most popular surfing destination.

Using an underwater machine, SEA plans to generate massive waves that will flood the town's historic pier and seafront. But fear not - Agent Cam O'Flage has infiltrated their base and is providing us with vital information to help stop their scheme. It's up to YOU, our top agents, to follow Cam's clues and crack the code before Saltburn's seafront meets a watery end.

The Slippery Scheme Trail through Saltburn-by-the-Sea

Prepare for an exciting self-guided adventure through the charming gardens, bustling town, and iconic pier of Saltburn-by-the-Sea. As you explore the town, keep an eye out for sneaky clues hidden in historic buildings, permanent features, and intriguing monuments.

Your mission begins at the town's beautiful gardens, where you'll find the SEA coffee shack. From there, follow Agent Cam's clues through the town's streets and onto the historic pier. But beware - SEA is always one step ahead, so you'll need to use all your skills to crack the code and save Saltburn from a watery fate.

Join the mission, agents - can YOU stop the great wave caper and save Saltburn-by-the-Sea?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Please Note:

The route follows pavements and paths with a few steep sections along the way which may not be suitable for all wheelchair users. At the end, you can choose to use a series of steps down the cliff or to take the cliff lift.

The route is step-free provided that the Cliff Lift is running to return down to the seafront at the end of the Trail.

For completely step-free access, you may need to send someone down to the car to pick you up at the top and take you down to the seafront to solve the final Clues.

This Trail is dog-friendly with the opportunity to have a good run around on the beach at the end. Please check signs for which areas of the beach dogs are allowed on.

There are public toilets at the start and finish of the Trail route and plenty of refreshment opportunities in the town towards the middle section of the Trail.
