More Information:

Navigating The Route

This is a circular investigation around the ridge-top village of Purton, with detectives following pavements and village lanes as they track down vital evidence.

The route is mostly straightforward, but there are a few short climbs and gentle descents to keep your team on their toes. Stay sharp when crossing roads, as traffic can move quickly through the village.

Getting There

Time to park up the patrol vehicle and begin your investigation:

Purton Village Hall Car Park (SN5 4AJ) - Your official case start point.
The Millennium Hall, Church Street (SN5 4DT) - A handy backup if spaces are tight.

Parking can be limited, so arrive prepared and ready to deploy.

Need the Loo?

Even top detectives need a comfort break!

Public toilets are signposted near Purton Village Hall on Station Road, close to the start and end of your investigation.

You’ll also pass cafés and pubs along the route - ideal for a quick refuel or an undercover snack stop.

Bring Your Furry Sidekicks

Got a trusty sniffer dog on the team? Four-legged detectives are welcome to assist with the case!

There are plenty of interesting scents to investigate along the route, but keep leads handy near roads and busier areas to avoid any rogue pursuits.

Want to Make a Day of It?

Stakeouts & Snack Stops

The Village Centre green near Church Street is a perfect spot for a low-key stakeout (or picnic!), while The Angel on the High Street offers a cosy place to regroup and compare notes.

Historic Clues & Local Secrets

Purton has been on the map since Saxon times, and its long history leaves clues hidden in plain sight. From old buildings to village landmarks, every corner could hold a piece of the puzzle - keep those detective eyes peeled.

Churchyard Mysteries & Scenic Views

St Mary’s Church and its surrounding grounds form a key part of your investigation zone. With historic features, peaceful paths and wide views across the surrounding countryside, it’s the perfect setting for uncovering secrets… or spotting suspicious behaviour.

Mini Detective Club

We have three super duper themed Clubs for your child to enjoy as part of their Treasure Trail experience.

Perfect for 4-8 year olds, the concept behind the Clubs is that your child will get a bundle of goodies to excite them about their forthcoming Trail experience, something to keep them entertained whilst travelling to and from the Trail, and something to be given on completion of the Trail as a keepsake.
