Ready for an adventure?

A trail of clues awaits in

Portland

In 1762, a ferocious storm destroyed a Cornish ship, washing her crew into the sea and scattering her cargo, leaving it to drift with the tide into Portland. The King's Men were ready to gather it up, but when they pulled it ashore, all that was left were empty crates! According to rumour, Portland Smugglers had got there first and stashed it somewhere on Portland. Now, rumour has turned into reality after a weathered treasure map in a bottle has bobbed into Portland harbour. We've received the map and its curious set of clues at the Exploration Society HQ. We need help from TOP Explorers to follow the route, crack the clues, and track down the missing contraband so that we can finally piece together the puzzle of the pinched treasure trove. Do YOU have what it takes?

Smugglers in the Storm

Embark on an exciting self-guided adventure through the stunning coast of Portland Bill in search of a long-lost treasure. This Treasure Trail is perfect for families and friends looking for a fun day out or for those seeking a unique way to explore the area.

As you follow the Trail route, you'll solve sneaky clues that are hidden on existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments. Keep your eyes peeled for the skull and crossbones on some of the old gravestones in the secluded Pirates Graveyard and explore the ancient ruin of St. Andrews Church. The adventure continues along the South West Coast Path to Rufus Castle before exploring even more of Portland.

Ready to uncover the long-lost treasure of Portland Bill? Grab your map and get ready for an exciting journey filled with puzzles, clues, and adventure!
