Navigating The Route

This is a circular Detective Mystery through Peterborough city centre, riverside paths and historic streets, with sleuths following pavements, pedestrian areas and waterside routes as they work to uncover what really happened to Rick the Brick.

The route follows mostly flat pavements and well maintained paths throughout, making it suitable for both wheelchairs and pushchairs.

⚠️ Important: You will be travelling along busy town streets, pedestrianised areas and stretches beside the River Nene, so detectives should use crossings where available, stay alert at all times and keep younger team members under close supervision.

Take extra care along the riverside sections, where there are unfenced edges and passing cyclists, and avoid getting too close to the water while examining clues.

By car: Car Haven Pay & Display Car Park (PE1 1YX) is the recommended parking spot. If it’s busier than a suspect’s alibi, try Riverside Car Park (PE1 1EG) nearby.

By public transport: Peterborough is well served by bus and rail links, with the city centre and start point within easy walking distance of transport hubs.

Your investigation begins in Bishop’s Road Gardens (PE1 1YU) - so step into position, gather your evidence kit and start scanning for your first clue straight away.

Toilets can be found at the suggested car park near the start, and later at the free-entry museum after Clue 12, which also has café facilities - a useful mid-investigation pause point.
