A trail of clues awaits in

Country Parks

Legend has it that a group of Viking raiders buried their stolen treasures near the site of the National Water Sports Centre in Holme Pierrepont and Colwick Park. But when Sir John Musters stumbled upon the bounty, he used part of it to build Colwick Hall in 1776, before reburial.

Now, centuries later, an old map has been discovered during renovations at the Hall and sent to the Exploration Society. Can YOU use your treasure-seeking skills to decipher the map and uncover the Viking hoard before it's too late? Keep your eyes open and get ready for an adventure!

Treasure Hunt Through Holme Pierrepont and Colwick Park

Are you ready for a family-friendly treasure hunt through the scenic and historic Holme Pierrepont and Colwick Park? As you follow the self-guided Trail route, you'll solve sneaky clues set on existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments. This is an immersive and playful way to explore the area and have fun with friends and family.

The Trail begins at the National Water Sports Centre, where the Vikings once used the river Trent to travel and spread out across the area. Keep an eye out for white water action as you journey through the country park, and don't forget to complete the second part of your quest at Colwick Park on the opposite bank of the river.

The Viking hoard is waiting to be found… Are YOU ready for the challenge?
