Knightsbridge - Hyde Park & Back

Navigating The Route

This is a circular Spy Mission around Knightsbridge, Hyde Park and Belgravia, with Agents gathering intel to stop Dr Dan Gerous, who is threatening Harrods with a hidden weather machine, and crack the deactivation code.

The operation covers approximately 2 miles and should take around 2 hours to complete. You'll start at Hyde Park Corner tube station, head through leafy Hyde Park, investigate Knightsbridge and Harrods, then continue through Belgravia before looping back to Hyde Park Corner.

This Trail is wheelchair accessible and pushchair accessible. The route is paved and easygoing, with some steps but ramps are available.

There are busy roads along the route, with pedestrian and zebra crossings used wherever possible. Stay alert for vehicles and bicycles on London's busy roads and on paths in the park too.

No Clues on this Trail are hidden or obscured by the annual Winter Wonderland event, though Clue 11 is set at a location where there may be congestion while the event is happening.

Getting There

By car: Your mission begins at Hyde Park Corner tube station, at street level outside the subway exit on Lanesborough Place (SW1X 7TA). The route loops back to Hyde Park Corner once Dr Dan Gerous' weather-machine plot has been tackled.

By public transport: Start at Hyde Park Corner tube station on the Piccadilly line, then head to street level outside the subway exit on Lanesborough Place to begin the operation.

There are toilets in Hyde Park, a slight detour before Clue 11 - a handy comfort stop before your Agents press on with the case.

Bring Your Furry Sidekicks

Four-legged Agents are welcome to join the mission. 🐾

The route includes busy roads, park paths and areas where you will need to stay alert for vehicles and bicycles, so keep canine recruits close throughout, especially around crossings and busier stretches.

Food & Drink Stops

Code-cracking is hungry work, but there are plenty of chances to stop for refreshments or stock up on snacks along the route.

Hyde Park makes a good picnic spot, and it is also noted as a safe zone, with a play area for Mini Agents nearby. You may also divert to the play area or the safe zone at the Serpentine in Hyde Park if your squad needs a longer breather.

Hyde Park

The route passes through Hyde Park, giving Agents a leafy and easygoing stretch of the operation. It's a great place to slow the pace, enjoy a picnic, use the toilets with a slight detour before Clue 11, or let Mini Agents make the most of the nearby play area.

Harrods

Harrods is right at the heart of Dr Dan Gerous' dastardly scheme. This famous Knightsbridge store has 330 departments and, on an average day, approximately 100,000 people come to shop there. On peak days, especially during the Christmas season, this number can jump up to 300,000. Shoppers can get everything from the latest fashions to toys and even Krispy Kreme donuts.

The Grenadier

For an optional side operation, take the small diversion along Wilton Row to The Grenadier, described as one of London's hidden pubs. Local intel says it is haunted by the ghost of a soldier caught cheating at cards - exactly the sort of suspicious tale Agents should file for later.

Belgravia and the Pantechnicon Building

As the mission moves through Belgravia, keep watch for the Pantechnicon building. It was an early 19th-century furniture warehouse, where specially designed horse-drawn carriages with sloping ramps were used - the origin of the 'pantechnicon wagon' today.
