The Disappearing Marina Mystery

Something strange is happening in the marina of Hull. Boats are starting to disappear without a trace, and the evil villain, Baron Ivor Grudge, is behind it all. Having been fired from his job as an apprentice welder in the dockyards of Hull, he is seeking revenge by making the marina disappear. It's up to YOU, our best code crackers, to follow the clues and deactivate the device before it's too late!

Spy Mission Through Hull's Old Town

Embark on an exciting self-guided spy mission through the Old Town of Hull, searching for clues to deactivate the device and save the marina. Starting in Queen Victoria Square, you'll explore the historic streets and landmarks of the old town, including the marina area. Keep an eye out for the unique cream telephone boxes, found only in Hull.

Will you be able to crack the code and save the marina from disappearing forever?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Hull, there are a few things you need to know...

The route isn’t friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs due to steps and the section around the marina.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that it is a busy city centre, so dogs will need to be kept on leads.

The closest parking to the Trail start point is on Guildhall Road (HU1 1HJ), just a five-minute walk away.

There are some fantastic events in Hull’s calendar, all of which are fantastic times to visit this vibrant city. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Visit Hull.

There are public toilets available towards the beginning and end of the Trail and in Princes Quay Shopping Centre after Clue 18. The route passes several pubs, snack shops, restaurants and cafes along the way.

Looking for more things to do in Hull? Make a day of it and visit the Hull and East Riding, Hands on History and Streetlife museums to learn more fascinating facts about the city’s past.
