What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Navigating The Route

This is a circular Spy Mission around London’s Liverpool Street, The Gherkin and the City skyline, with Agents delving through alleyways, passageways, historic streets and skyscraper territory to stop Hugh G. Bowness making a monkey of the City’s future.

The mission covers approximately 2 miles and should take around 1.5 hours to complete. Operatives will be weaving through busy pavements, station surrounds, City streets, churchyards, modern squares and tucked-away passageways beneath some of London’s most famous skyline sights. This Trail is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.

⚠️ Important: This is a busy urban mission with traffic, bicycles, road crossings and plenty of moments where Agents may be looking up at buildings. Stay alert at all times, especially where crossings are not available, and never step back into the road while scanning the skyline for intel.

Essential Intel

This mission includes lots of tucked-away turns, passageways and skyline-spotting, so keep your squad together and stay alert. The City can be busy, fast-moving and full of distractions, but with steady feet and sharp eyes, Agents should have Hugh G.’s banana-shaped scheme peeled open in no time.

Getting There

Time to gather your squad and begin the skyline-saving operation:

By public transport: The mission begins at the Bishopsgate West entrance to Liverpool Street Station, opposite the end of New Street (EC2M 4NQ), using ///deep.hunt.fades. Liverpool Street Station is right at the start and finish of the route, making public transport the easiest way to reach this operation.

By car: This is a central London mission, so travelling by public transport is strongly recommended. There is no dedicated parking for this operation, so anyone driving should plan parking independently before setting off and allow extra time.

Need the Loo?

Even top field agents need a tactical comfort break before entering enemy territory. Public toilets are available in Liverpool Street Station, so seek them out before you start the mission.

Bring Your Furry Sidekicks

Four-legged agents may find this mission a little full-on 🐾

The route is very urban, with station areas, busy pavements, traffic, bicycles, road crossings and narrow passageways. If canine recruits join the squad, keep them on a short lead throughout and take extra care in crowds, near roads and around the station area.

Food & Drink Stops

All that ducking, diving and skyline surveillance can make even the stealthiest Agent peckish.

There are plenty of places to stop and refuel or pick up supplies along the route. If your squad fancies a covert picnic, Finsbury Circus near Clue 08 is your best bet, as long as it is open when you arrive.

Want to Make a Day of It?

Liverpool Street Station

The mission starts and finishes at Liverpool Street Station, one of London’s busiest transport hubs. It is a handy base for launching the operation, regrouping afterwards, or vanishing into the crowd if Hugh G. Bowness gets too close.

The Gherkin

The Gherkin plays a starring role in this skyline caper. Officially known as 30 St Mary Axe, it stands 180 metres tall with 41 floors and enough external glass to cover around five football pitches. A proper high-rise hiding place for a safe full of stolen plans.

Finsbury Circus

Finsbury Circus offers a useful green pause amid the City streets. Laid out in 1815 to designs by George Dance the Younger, it remains the largest green space in the City and is a good picnic stop if open.

Austin Friars

The route slips through Austin Friars, a site that began life as a 13th century friary before later becoming part of Thomas Cromwell’s London power base. With old cellars thought to lurk beneath nearby Drapers’ Hall, it is prime territory for secret-agent daydreaming.

St Helen’s Churchyard

St Helen’s Churchyard gives Agents a quieter moment close to The Gherkin before the final stretch of the mission. It is a useful place to pause, regroup and check no anti-agent drones have followed you from Throgmorton Street.

Devonshire Square

Devonshire Square was once part of a busy East India Company warehouse estate, storing valuable goods such as silk and textiles. These days, it makes a sleek City stop with just the right amount of covert-exchange energy.
