The Bay at Elie Ness is said to be named after the tiny garnet stones often washed up on the beach. But rumour has it that many years ago, a pirate ship carrying real rubies, diamonds, and gold was grounded near Elie. No one knows what happened to the precious cargo, but an old treasure map has recently been found that may point the way to the treasure. Can you follow the Trail, solve the Clues, and find the hiding place? You could win a prize!

The Trail starts in Ruby Bay and takes you through the town as far as Earlsferry Golf Course before returning via the harbour to the beach. Elie is a pretty East Neuk coastal village with an interesting church with a hexagonal tower and some fine historic sites.
