The Lost Hat of the Hatter - A Wonderland Adventure

Oh my ears and whiskers, how did it get lost? It's been 150 years since Alice first popped into Wonderland to see us, and every year we celebrate with a special tea-party. But this year, our good friend the Hatter has lost his hat! The party can't possibly start without it. He thinks he might have left it in Daresbury (where this year's special party is going to be) or possibly in Walton Gardens. Can you help us, Dear Readers, solve this mystery?

The Adventures of Alice in Daresbury and Walton

Are you looking for a fun day out with family and friends, or seeking a thrilling adventure with the kids in Cheshire? Look no further than this self-guided Alice in Wonderland Treasure Hunt through the quaint village of Daresbury and the picturesque Walton Hall and Gardens.

As you follow the Trail, you'll unravel sneaky clues hidden in existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments, all while exploring the village and its connection to Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland. You'll journey through the fields and make your way to the stunning All Saints Church (please check service times) before heading to the second location at Walton Hall and Gardens, a popular park with a children's zoo, playgrounds, and a cafe.

Put on your thinking caps, Dear Readers, and join us for an unforgettable adventure to find the Hatter's lost hat before the tea-party goes off the boil!

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Please Note:

A large portion of this trail takes place inside All Saints' Church which has low lighting.

Whilst they are very happy to receive visitors it is asked that you to respect any services that may be going on.

It is open throughout the year from 10.00 am until late but please leave plenty of time to complete the Trail before the church closes and follow their advice of leaving doors open and giving other people space.

Details of Sunday Services are available on their website daresburycofe.org.uk

They also host carol services during December which you will need to be aware of.

The route of this Trail may be disrupted during the annual Creamfields Music Festival event that happens each August Bank Holiday weekend. For further details, click here.
