Treasure Hunt Trail
The Mysterious Treasure of Cockermouth
Legend has it that the lesser known, but much more talented, younger brother of William Wordsworth, Wally Wordsworth, stumbled upon a hidden treasure while wandering lonely as a cloud. In a stroke of genius, he decided to hide the treasure for others to find, leaving behind a map and clues to lead the way.
Years have passed, and Wally's treasure remains undiscovered, waiting for expert treasure hunters like YOU to claim it.
Treasure Hunt Through Cockermouth
Embark on an exciting self-guided Treasure Hunt through the quaint town of Cockermouth. As you follow the trail, keep your eyes peeled for sneaky clues hidden on existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments. Wally's treasure could be waiting for you at the end of the trail!
Your adventure begins at the Town Hall, where Wally himself once stood. From there, you'll explore the bustling market town, known for its fascinating history and Georgian architecture. Along the way, you may even catch a glimpse of Wally's famous siblings, William and Dorothy Wordsworth, as well as the infamous Fletcher Christian, leader of the mutiny on ‘The Bounty'.
Join the hunt and see if YOU have what it takes to find Wally's treasure chest! Good luck!
