Please note that Clues 14-17 are inaccessible after dusk, so be sure to set off in plenty of time to complete your quest in daylight.
Navigating The Route
This is a circular Treasure Hunt through Chichester’s city centre, cathedral grounds and Priory Park, with explorers following pavements, pedestrian streets and park pathways as they eliminate false locations and track down Clueless Maximus’ hidden hoard.
The route follows mostly flat pavements and well maintained paths throughout, making it suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Getting There
Your quest begins outside The Novium Museum on Tower Street (PO19 1QH) .
By car:
Nearby parking can be found at Orchard Street (PO19 1DD), St Cyriacs (PO19 1AW) or Little London (PO19 1YH).
By public transport:
Chichester is well served by bus and rail links, with the city centre and start point within easy walking distance from transport hubs.
Need the Loo?
Even the most intrepid explorers need a quick pit stop! Toilets can be found near the start on Tower Street, again within Priory Park (around Clues 07-08), and later at Cornmarket Car Park after Clue 10, giving you several well-timed opportunities to pause during your quest.
Bring Your Furry Sidekicks
Four-legged explorers are welcome on the quest 🐾 However, dogs are not permitted inside Priory Park, so if your team includes a canine companion, you will need to follow the alternative route provided to solve the clue and continue your adventure.
Food & Drink Stops
Treasure hunting is hungry work! There are plenty of cafés, pubs and restaurants throughout the city centre, making it easy to refuel as you explore.
If the weather’s kind, you can enjoy a picnic in Priory Park (Clues 07-08) or later in the Bishop’s Palace Gardens (around Clue 16) - both excellent spots to pause and plan your next move.
