Before You Set Off
Before You Set Off
Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Cardiff (Caerdydd), there are a few things you need to know...
This Trail takes you through Bute Park, which opens at 7:30am and closes 30 minutes before sunset (4:30pm in winter months) so please give yourself plenty of time to access these clues. Occasionally, events held here will restrict access to some clues, so please check their events calendar before setting off.
The Trail is friendly to both wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that this is a busy city centre, so dogs will need to be kept on leads.
There is short stay pay and display parking along Park Place (CF10 3AS, max. five hours), next to the Trail start point. Or why not try one of Cardiff's fantastic Park and Ride services?
There are some fantastic events in Cardiff's calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful city. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Cardiff Visitor Information.
There are toilets available in the St David's Centre, and there is a myriad of cafes, restaurants, pubs and other eating establishments along the way. Bute Park makes a fantastic picnic spot if the weather is nice!
Looking for more things to do in Cardiff? Make a day of it by visiting some of the fascinating attractions along the way, such as the National Museum or Cardiff Castle? Or why not try one of our other Cardiff Trails to uncover more twisting tales about this amazing city?
