The Case of the Missing Flying Flop!

Local wild swimmer Belle E. Flopp, known for her mastery of all swimming strokes, has mysteriously disappeared from the shores of Bournemouth Beach. At first, it was thought to be a tragic accident, but when the police discovered that Belle was in training to beat the hotly contested flying belly flop world record, they began to suspect foul play.

Could it be that a jealous rival was out to clip her (water) wings? New evidence has led to detectives wading in to investigate further, but Chief Inspector Paddy Lingpool feels like they're completely out of their depth and starting to tread water…

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure, there are a few things you need to know...

PLEASE NOTE: This is a ONE WAY - LINEAR ROUTE Trail, so you will need to retrace your steps back to your squad car once you’ve cracked all the clues!

The route is friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that it is a busy town centre, so dogs will need to be kept on leads.

The closest parking to the Trail start point is along Coy Pond Road, just off of Branksome Wood Road (BH12 1JU), where your investigation begins.

There are some fantastic events in Bournemouth’s calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful town. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Bournemouth Tourist Information.

There are public toilets available near Clue 14, and the route passes several pubs, shops and cafes along the way.

Looking for more things to do in Bournemouth? Make a day of it and visit the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum or pack a picnic and relax on the beach after your mission. You could even challenge yourself to our Bournemouth Central Trail and let out your inner slippery spy!
