Detective Mystery Trail
Jewel Be Sorry – A Curious Case in Bathgate!
Bathgate is in a right royal muddle. On the eve of a grand museum launch, a priceless heirloom – the Bruce Crown – has vanished without a trace! Once the pride of Marjorie Bruce (daughter of Robert the Bruce himself), the crown is steeped in history, mystery… and possibly mischief.
Enter DCI Regal Beagle – an expert in sniffing out suspects and scandal. With more mysterious cases under his collar than Scooby Doo, he needs top detectives to help track down the truth. Was the crown nabbed by a rival collector? Or is someone trying to bury Bathgate's royal roots for good?
It's up to YOU to follow the clues, expose the culprit, and restore Bathgate’s royal sparkle – before the town loses its crown for good!

Before You Set Off
Before You Set Off
Before you embark on your crown-cracking case around Bathgate, here are a few handy tips...
Easy to Navigate - The Trail follows pavements and well-maintained paths, making it suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. There are a few steady inclines and one slightly bumpy stretch near the sports centre, but nothing a determined detective can’t handle.
Bring Your Furry Sidekicks - DCI Regal Beagle would never leave HQ without his four-legged sniffer dog! The route includes a couple of green spaces - especially around the park by the sports centre - ideal for a quick sniff and stretch. Just keep leads handy and check for any signs or local restrictions.
Parking Sorted! - There’s free parking at the Acredale/ Opal Car Park (EH48 1PP), right near the Trail’s starting point at St David’s Church. Handy if you're planning pre-investigation prep or post-case celebrations.
