As you follow the clues and solve the riddle, you'll uncover secrets and hidden gems of Ambleside, all while enjoying a fun and immersive adventure with your family. But be careful, this riddle might not be as simple as it seems, and only the most astute riddlers will be able to crack it.

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Ambleside, there are a few things you need to know…
The route isn’t friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs due to uneven terrain, steps and a steep climbs.
Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that dogs will need to be kept on leads in the churchyard and around the town.
The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Rydal Road (LA22 9AN).
During large or outdoor events, some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. Please check for any events before setting off.
There are public toilets available towards the beginning and end, as well as after Clues 04 and before Clue 15. There are several pubs, restaurants and a few cafes along the way, and there are opportunities to stock up on supplies between Clues 09-13 and after Clue 18.
Looking for more things to do in Ambleside? Why not make a day of it and visit The Armitt, a museum, gallery and library that history and heritage fans will love. Or, venture out of Ambleside to the north to visit Rydal Cave or William Wordsworth’s family home at Rydal Mount.
