Easy to Navigate - This riverside route is fully accessible for wheelchair users and pushchairs, sticking to well-maintained paths and flat pavements throughout. With gentle gradients and clear signage, this Trail is perfect for fledgling explorers and seasoned seadogs alike!
Bring Your Furry First Mates - Four-legged friends are welcome aboard! The Trail passes through green spaces like Lyle Park, Royal Wharf Gardens, and Thames Barrier Park – ideal for a leg-stretch or tail wag. Just keep them on a lead and check local signs as you go.
Getting There - To reach the start point at Lyle Park, you have two ways of arriving via public transport. You could use the DLR to West Silvertown station (E16 2AT - ///flank.logs.future). Or embrace your inner pirate and sail in by River Bus to Royal Wharf Pier (E16 2SX - ///class.this.debit). There’s even a treasure-worthy view as you arrive!
Need the Loo? - Facilities are available at:
- Thames Barrier Park café – open during park hours, with toilets inside.
- The Windjammer – Customers only but perfect for a mid-adventure pit stop.
Other Pit Stop Places - There are other cafés and shops along Royal Crest Avenue near the end of your adventure.
Heads Up - Thames Barrier Park (mid-quest) closes at dusk, so plan your voyage accordingly to avoid getting marooned!

Explore the Royal Docks - Discover the area’s industrial past, from the dock workers of Lyle Park to the sunken splendour of Thames Barrier Park’s Green Dock - once a dry dockyard, now reborn as a lush green trench.
Hop on the River Bus - Arrive or depart in style via the Royal Wharf Pier and soak in riverside views from the Thames itself - just the thing for adventurers with sea legs!
Sail into the Skyline - Marvel at London’s futuristic riverside living as you meander past sleek apartments, sunken gardens, public art and the colossal silver domes of the Thames Barrier itself - the second-largest moveable flood barrier in the world! There is a Thames Barrier Visitor Centre but you'll need to cross the river to get there.
