Navigating The Route
This is a circular investigation through Stratford-upon-Avon’s historic streets, riverside paths and canal basin, with detectives following pavements and well-maintained routes throughout.
The walking is fairly easy overall, though there are some busy areas and sections near open water. Take extra care along the canal basin and River Avon, and keep a close eye on your team - we don’t want anyone mysteriously turning into a frog mid-case!
Getting There
Time to gather your magical detectives and report for duty:
Swan’s Nest Lane near Stratford Butterfly Farm (CV37 7LS) - The official start point for your investigation. There is parking available in this area, making it a handy base to begin tracking down the rogue sorceress.

Even the most powerful spellcasters need a quick break!
Public toilets can be found near the start and finish by the Riverside Restaurant, and also along the route in Ely Street (around Clue 11). You’ll also pass plenty of cafés and shops through the town centre if your magical energy levels need a boost.
