Top secret!

We've got a mission for you in

Oxford

Oxford City needs your help! The peaceful English Longhorn cattle who graze at Christ Church Meadow are in danger of being swept away by a catastrophic flood. And it's all because of expelled Zoology student, Noah Zarke. He has set up a device that, when detonated, will create an enormous dam near where the Cherwell and Thames rivers meet. Can YOU save the cattle, the meadow, and the surrounding areas from disaster?

To stop the flood, you'll need to put your spy skills to the test and solve the Clues to discover the code that will disable the dastardly device. But be quick, Noah and his cohorts are in hiding and the clock is ticking!

Spy Mission Through Oxford City, Tower & Meadow

Time to roll up your sleeves and embark on this exciting self-guided Spy Mission through the 'city of dreaming spires'. As you explore the ancient heart of Oxford, you'll have the option to climb 99 steps to the top of Carfax Tower (trust us, it's worth it for the view!), see where JRR Tolkien used to live, and uncover many more amazing stories.

But beware, danger lurks around every corner! We've received intel that Noah Zarke has hatched a dastardly plan. He's got his hands on a device that will create an enormous Dam, and only YOU can stop him. Keep your wits about you as you stealthily solve the clues around the city and crack the code to deactivate the device. Can YOU save Oxford from a damp disaster?

More Information:

Before you set off on your awesome adventure, there are a few things you need to know...

You'll encounter some cobbles and a kissing gate along the route, so, unfortunately, it isn't suitable for wheelchairs. Those with light, foldable pushchairs should find this manageable.

Bring your four-legged friends along! This is a completely dog-friendly Trail.

The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Westgate Centre (OX1 1NT), just a five-minute walk away. Or why not try Oxford's fantastic Park and Ride service?

Please note that Christ Church Meadow occasionally floods after extraordinary rainfall. Two clues would be inaccessible during this time. If there has been rain around the time you plan to tackle the mission, strong waterproof footwear is strongly advised, as some parts of the Trail can get muddy.

There are some fantastic events in Oxford's calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful city. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Oxford Visitor Information.

There are public toilets available at Clue 01, Clue 05 (women only) and Clue 20 (closed Sundays). The route passes several pubs, snack shops and cafes at the beginning of the Trail. There are some great picnic opportunities along the way!

Why not make a day of it and visit some of Oxford's amazing attractions - like Carfax Tower and Christ Church College? You could even take a punt along the river! Or, if you'd like another challenge, have a go at one of the other Trails in our Oxford collection!
