The Rye Treasure Trail starts at:

Wish Street
East Sussex
TN31 7AY

Please Note:

Copies of this Trail can often be purchased from Rye Heritage Centre, although we recommend giving them a call first to make sure they have some in stock.

Sadly, this Trail is not marked as friendly for wheelchairs due to some cobbles and steps, as well as some steep hills. Those with pushchairs should find this manageable.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that dogs will need to be kept on a lead along the route and there are no green spaces to let them loose.

There are several car parks around Rye, but we recommend Gibbet Marsh as it has the most spaces and is just a 5-minute walk away from the start point. By parking here, you will need to cross a railway line to reach the town, so please be careful!

There are some fantastic events in Rye’s calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful town. However, you may find that some of the Clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions.

Public toilets available at the start and end of the Trail, and at Clue 08. There are a loads of cafes, restaurants and other refreshment stops along the way.

Why not make a day of it by visiting some of the fascinating attractions along the way, such as the Ypres Tower Museum? You will discover amazing stories about ancient Rye and see spectacular views! You could even visit the nearby town of Winchelsea and challenge yourselves to another Trail adventure!
