Save the World from Advancing Alien Invaders!

The small town of Woking may seem like an ordinary place, but it holds a dark secret. It is famous for being the landing site of the Martians in HG Well's classic sci-fi novel, 'War of the Worlds'. But now, it seems that fiction may become reality as hostile extra-terrestrial beings have their sights set on Earth!

According to the Home Office, the only way to stop these advancing alien invaders is to release a bacteria that is harmless to Earth's living creatures but lethal to the aliens. But there's a catch - we need a four-digit code to unlock the device that will release the bacteria. Can you brave the dangers and solve the Clues to save the world?

Spy Mission Through Woking and Horsell Common

Attention all undercover agents - a top-secret mission is underway in Woking and Horsell Common! Your self-guided spy mission Trail will have you sneaking through the town centre before making a daring escape through the common. What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure, there are a few things you need to know...

The route is friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that dogs will need to be kept on leads in the town centre, but they’ll have the chance to zoom around on the common.

The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Heathside Car Park (GU22 7AG), just a three minute walk away.

There are some fantastic events in Woking’s calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful town. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Woking Tourist Information.

There are public toilets available towards the beginning and end of the Trail, and the route passes several pubs and a few cafes in the town centre. Pack plenty of supplies to keep you going – you’ll pass some perfect picnic spots!

Why not make a day of it and visit The Lightbox gallery and museum to see what more Woking has to offer? You could even challenge yourself to our Woking Town of Surprises Trail and let out your inner super sleuth!
