A trail of clues awaits in

Goathland

Something strange is happening in the quaint village of Goathland - a mysterious creature has been spotted wandering the moors. Some say it's a dog, others say it's a goat, and some even claim it's a horse with a lion's mane. But one thing's for sure, this eerie apparition is causing quite a stir among the residents. Could this be the return of the legendary gytrash?

Local historian Dr. Indy Parst has unearthed some intriguing clues and a map, which he believes will lead to the location of a long-lost spellbook. According to legend, this spellbook contains the only incantation that can banish the gytrash from the village forever. Now, it's up to the Intrepid Explorer Society (IES) to unravel the mystery and find the spellbook before it's too late. Are YOU brave enough to join this quest and help save the village?

Uncover the Secrets of Goathland - A Family-Friendly Adventure

From there, you'll journey through Goathland Station, made famous by its appearances in popular TV shows and films. As you make your way across the moors, keep your eyes peeled for suspicious activity and cleverly concealed clues that will help you on your quest.

There are plenty of scenic walks available in the surrounding areas including a short walk to Mallyan Spout waterfall which is detailed as a suggested detour within the Trail booklet. You could also take a short trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (fares and timetable restrictions apply).
