The Time Travelling Hunt for Cromonium

The year is 2432 and the world is in turmoil due to global warming. But there's hope! Scientists have discovered that a rare substance called Cromonium, when fired into space, can stabilize the environment and reverse the effects of global warming. The only problem? All the Cromonium was hidden on an island off the east coast in the year 2000. Can YOU travel back in time, decipher the clues, and save the future?

Treasure Hunt Through Cromer Seafront, Pier & Town

Step into a topsy-turvy time-travelling adventure as you explore the charming seaside town of Cromer on your self-guided treasure hunt. Your journey will take you along the scenic seafront, through the bustling pier, and into the heart of the town. Keep your eyes peeled for Norfolk's tallest church tower and a memorial to the most famous coxswain in RNLI history, but beware of hidden dangers along the way.

The fate of our future rests in your hands. Can YOU solve the clues and find the hidden Cromonium before it's too late?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Cromer, there are a few things you need to know...

The route is friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs, although there are a couple of short steep slopes along the way.

Bring your four-legged friends along! This Trail is suitable for dogs, but they may need to be kept on leads along the promenade (make sure to check the local bylaws).

The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Meadow Road (NR27 9EE), just a two-minute walk away.

There are some fantastic events in Cromer’s calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful town. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. Please check for events before setting off.

There are public toilets available towards the beginning, middle, and end of the Trail, and the route passes several pubs and a few cafes along the way.

Looking for more things to do in Cromer? Make a day of it and visit the Garden House Gallery or Cromer Museum to learn more twisting tales about the town.
