The Hertford Treasure Trail starts at:

Marshgate Drive
SG13 7AJ

Please Note:

Unfortunately, the route is friendly for wheelchair users due to unavoidable steps. However, those with light pushchairs should find this manageable.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that there are sections in the busy town so dogs will need to be kept on leads.

The closest pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Marshgate Drive, just a minute’s walk away from your first Clue.

There are some fantastic events in Hertford’s calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful town. However, you may find that some of the Clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Hertford Tourist Information.

There are public toilets available towards the end of the Trail and the route passes several pubs and a few cafes along the way. Or, pack a picnic to enjoy at the castle grounds.

Why not make a day of it and take a peek inside Hertford Museum to learn more twisting tales about this lovely town? Or, take a trip just out of the town to explore the glorious open spaces at Panshanger Park.
