Before you embark on your whodunnit case around West Dorset and Burton Bradstock, here are a few handy pointers...
Navigation - The Trail follows a stretch of the South West Coast Path, along a short, steep section onto clifftops, so please click or tap here check the local weather before setting off and wear weather appropriate clothing - particularly footwear! You'll then venture around the village of Burton Bradstock, where you'll encounter narrow roads and lanes, often without pavements, so keep a close eye on your whole squad around here!
Bring Your Furry Friends along - DCI Hugh Dunnit would never leave his office without his four-legged sniffer dog! The route is predominantly along roads and lanes and the beach at the beginning/end is SEASONALLY dog friendly - ideal in winter for a quick sniff and stretch. Just keep leads handy and check for any signs or local restrictions. As it is a National Trust managed area, you can click/tap here for more details.
Parking Sorted! - Hive Beach car park (DT6 4RF, W3W: ///confident.helm.jolly) is owned and maintained by the National Trust. As such, there is a large pay and display car park here which, if you're a member, is free to use. Click/tap here for the latest details about charges for non-members.
Refreshment Spots - At the start and end of the Trail there is Hive Beach Cafe, perfect for pre-post case refreshments. Just after Clue 04, there is a small shop located at the petrol station, so you could always pop in there for emergency snacking! There are also some lovely pubs that you'll pass while patrolling around Burton Bradstock itself.
