We have three super duper themed Clubs for your child to enjoy as part of their Treasure Trail experience.

Perfect for 4-8 year olds, the concept behind the Clubs is that your child will get a bundle of goodies to excite them about their forthcoming Trail experience, something to keep them entertained whilst travelling to and from the Trail, and something to be given on completion of the Trail as a keepsake.

Before you set off on your awesome adventure, there are a few things you need to know...

On very rare occasions, a spring tide combined with specific wind or rain conditions may cause a small section of the riverside path to flood and become impassable for about an hour. A five-minute detour has been written into the Trail if needed; no clues would be missed.

The Terrace Gardens are only open during daylight hours, so please give yourself plenty of time to complete your investigation (especially during the winter months).

The route is friendly for pushchairs so long as you are ok with a couple of steps at the end. There is also a steep incline through the Terrace Gardens, and a detour route will need to be followed to avoid steps (don't worry, you won't miss any clues!). We do not feel this Trail is suitable for wheelchair users.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that dogs will need to be kept on leads through the borough and in the Terrace Gardens, but there are opportunities for them to be let off the lead to run off steam.

The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Friars Lane (TW9 1NL), just a five-minute walk away. You could also arrive by train at Richmond station, which is on the District line, London Overground and the Waterloo-Reading line.

There are some fantastic events in Richmond's calendar, all of which are ideal times to visit this beautiful borough. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Richmond Visitor Information.

There are public toilets available towards the beginning and end of the Trail and near Clue 07. The route passes several pubs and a few cafes along the way, with Richmond Green (Clue 04) and the Terrace Gardens (Clue 15) perfect spots to enjoy a picnic.

Why not make a day of it and take a peek inside the Museum of Richmond or have a stroll along the riverside? If you're a fan of gardens, you could even visit the world-famous Kew Gardens, a short drive away.
