Before you set off on your awesome adventure, there are a few things you need to know...

The route is not friendly for wheelchair users due to some unavoidable steps; however, those with light pushchairs should find it manageable.

Bring your four-legged friends along! Please note that it is a busy city centre, so dogs will need to be kept on leads.

The closest long stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is at Victoria Avenue (PO1 2TF), where your investigation begins. If full, more parking is available at The Esplanade, just a five-minute walk away.

There are some fantastic events in Portsmouth's calendar, all of which are great times to visit this waterfront city. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Portsmouth Visitor Information.

There are public toilets available towards Clue 05 and Clues 16-17, and the route passes several shops and cafes (and a few ice cream parlours!) along the way.

Why not make a day of it and enjoy a spot of retail therapy at Gunwharf Quays? For those with a love of history, The D-Day Story is packed full of information to learn, or take a peek inside the Royal Garrison Church to uncover more twisting tales of Portsmouth's past!

Mini Detective Club

We have three super duper themed Clubs for your child to enjoy as part of their Treasure Trail experience.

Perfect for 4-8 year olds, the concept behind the Clubs is that your child will get a bundle of goodies to excite them about their forthcoming Trail experience, something to keep them entertained whilst travelling to and from the Trail, and something to be given on completion of the Trail as a keepsake.
