More Information:

Navigating The Route

This is a circular investigation around Kilmarnock town centre, parks and key landmarks, with detectives pounding the beat along pavements and clear paths.

There’s one steep incline that might leave you feeling a little all shook up, especially for wheelchairs (though strong buggies/pushchairs should manage). A longer diversion is available if you’d rather keep things smooth. Stay sharp at road crossings and busy areas - no suspicious slip-ups on this case!

Getting There

Time to roll up, step out and take centre stage:

Kilmarnock Cross, King Street (KA1 1LL) - Your official case start point in the pedestrianised town centre.
East George Street Car Park (KA1 1GB) - A handy nearby spot for your patrol vehicle.

With bus and train stations close by, your whole squad can arrive without missing a beat.

Need the Loo?

Even rock ’n’ roll detectives need a quick break!

Public toilets can be found near the start at Burns Mall and Foregate Square - perfect before you dive into the case.

You’ll also pass plenty of cafés and shops along the way, ideal for a snack stop or a quick blue suede brew.

Bring Your Furry Sidekicks

Got a hound dog on the team? Bring them along!

Four-legged detectives are welcome and will enjoy sniffing out clues in the parks and quieter stretches. Just keep leads handy near roads and busy areas - we don’t want any jailhouse rock chases!

Want to Make a Day of It?

Parks, Paths & Jailhouse Strolls

Howard Park and Kay Park offer the perfect setting for a breather between clues. Whether you're regrouping your team or enjoying a picnic, it’s a great place to keep your investigation on track.

Historic Kilmarnock (Thank You, Thank You Very Much)

From the early days around Laigh Kirk to its bustling town centre, Kilmarnock is packed with stories waiting to be uncovered. Keep your detective eyes peeled - the evidence is hiding in plain sight.

Culture, Shops & A Little Less Conversation

Burns Mall, the Dick Institute and the surrounding streets are full of things to explore once your case is cracked. Whether it’s shops, museums or a well-earned treat, there’s plenty to enjoy after your encore performance.

Mini Detective Club

We have three super duper themed Clubs for your child to enjoy as part of their Treasure Trail experience.

Perfect for 4-8 year olds, the concept behind the Clubs is that your child will get a bundle of goodies to excite them about their forthcoming Trail experience, something to keep them entertained whilst travelling to and from the Trail, and something to be given on completion of the Trail as a keepsake.
