A trail of clues awaits in
Keswick
Many, many moons ago, a rare neolithic gold amulet was discovered in the hills around Keswick. Local shepherd boy, Ewe Herda, was entrusted with transporting the amulet down from the hillside, but it never reached its final destination - Ewe claimed that one of his sheep had run off with the gold! The sheep in question was cross-examined at the time but would only say 'baa, naaat meh…'! However, following Ewe's recent demise, a treasure map with a set of Clues has been found amongst his belongings and passed on to us here at IES (Intrepid Explorer Society). We're now looking for some top adventurers who are brave enough to get out there and uncover this treasure. Are YOU up for the challenge of finding the missing amulet?
Treasure Hunt Through Keswick - Lakeside & Friar's Crag
This is no time to be sheepish, treasure seekers… Your self-guided adventure will take you on an expedition from the centre of Keswick down to the shores of Derwent Water for a lakeside stroll. You'll finish at Friar's Crag for a view which Ruskin described as 'one of the three most beautiful scenes in Europe'! But don't get too distracted by the pretty scenery… We can't let our rivals unearth this precious piece!
