The Great Betws-y-Coed Bake Off - Can YOU Save the Secret Recipe?

A delicious and beloved Welsh treat, the Bara Brith fruit loaf has been a staple in Betws-y-Coed for centuries. But now, the recipe is in danger of being lost forever! Jealous Australian baker Barry O'Reefe has stolen the secret ingredients and hidden them in a cave near Llyn Elsi, protected by a device that will bring down tons of stone if tampered with. It's up to YOU and your team of elite Agents to follow the Trail of Clues scattered around the village and save the recipe before it's too late!

Spy Mission Through Betws-y-Coed - Gateway to Eryri Park

Pull on your best undercover outfit and prepare for an immersive Spy Mission through the picturesque village of Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to Eryri National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for detection beams and enemy agents as you explore the stunning Gwydyr Forest and uncover all the hidden gems this popular inland destination has to offer.

But this isn't just any ordinary mission - not one, but TWO Welsh icons are at stake. Can YOU crack the Clues left behind by Barry and save the day?

Betws-y-Coed is calling… Are YOU ready to become a secret agent and save the secret recipe?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Betws-y-Coed, there are a few things you need to know...

The route isn’t friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs. This is due to the route including narrow and busy pavements, as well as an unsurfaced area by a river and steps.

This Trail is not fully suitable for dogs due to two churchyards that may have dog restrictions. The route is also very busy.

The closest long-stay, pay and display car park to the Trail start point is Station Road (LL24 0AE), just a one-minute walk away.

There are some fantastic events in Betws y Coed’s calendar, all of which are great times to visit this beautiful village. However, you may find that some of the clues on this Trail may become obstructed or difficult to access on these occasions. If you would like further information about event dates, please contact Betws-y-Coed Tourist Information.

There are public toilets available towards the beginning and end of the Trail, and the route passes several pubs and a few cafes along the way.

Looking for more things to do in Betws-y-Coed? Make a day of it and visit Zip World Fforest for more excitement and adventure, or Gwydir Castle to learn more twisting tales about this beautiful area.
