Operation Bash the Winter Blues

"Get fit", "lose weight", "set amazing New Year resolutions..." it's all I'm hearing about at the moment (and seeing on the TV)... I even got stopped as I entered Tescos (other supermarkets are available!) by a rep from the local gym asking me to join up – I made a swift getaway and headed straight for the cake aisle!
So rather than bombard you with get fit ideas, or share photos from a tropical holiday like your (super-happy) friend Emily on Facebook, we've brought together some ideas to put a smile on your face. Together, we can do this and fight the winter blues!
Bash the Winter Blues - Together, we can do this!

Some are Inspiring, Some are Amazing, and Some are just, Well... Plain Silly!

They might help you, they might not, but if something here makes you giggle, then you're on the right track to fight the winter blues like a pro!

Plan your Summer Holidays

Who doesn't love dreaming about their holidays in the sunshine! Start planning now and get the whole family inspired.

If you need some ideas, use our free Around The World Trip Puzzle which we sent out at the end of December. It's a globe-trotting adventure!

Why not do your holiday planning in your shorts, flip-flops and sun hat (no need to apply the sun cream though!)

Look at Your Surroundings in a Different Way

The obvious thing for me to say here, is to do a Treasure Trails. I wouldn’t be doing my job properly if I didn’t suggest this first, sorry for the shameless plug - however, let's move this onto another level and have a bit of fun along the way. Take some inspiration from the craze that is hunting for "Faces in Places" when out on your next Trail adventure.

Everywhere I turn at the moment I can't stop seeing faces in everyday items, it’s certainly put a smile on my face!

If you do find any "faces in places" examples on your next Trail then please share them on our Facebook Page.

Try to do Things That Scare You

We've all got our own "Comfort Zone" - but don't get too comfy in it, otherwise you'll never get out again! (I think I've just created my first inspirational quote there, ooh, get me!) Please don't think that I'm all talk and that I'm preaching to you. Far from it! I've taken this advice and well and truly pushed myself out of my comfort zone by joining a local choir called Sing Truro. (NOTE: the video will play without sound at first - don't forget to turn it up!)
Now, let's get one thing straight. I'm no Michael Bublé and haven't sung properly (singing in the shower doesn't count) for over 20 years. But you know what? It didn't take long for me to realise that everyone else in the room had their own fears about singing in public. You've heard the saying "safety in numbers" right? Well that's just how I felt. So, before the end of the session, I had the confidence (I've still got to work on the quality) to sing loud and proud! Walking home, I had a spring in my step and felt like I could do anything that was thrown at me. Who said facing your fears needs to be scary?

Get a Little Creative with Your Camera

Family photos are so precious to me, I'm sure they are to you as well, right? However, sometimes the reality of taking that family snap can be, well kinda stressful. I'm sure you know what I mean... Trying to get everyone looking at the camera and smiling is like trying to "juggle frogs" (please don't try this at home!) However, imagine being able to do this with your family photos:

I haven't got the Photoshop skills to get anywhere close to these amazing photos but I'm sure as going to try and make my next family snap a little bit different and get more creative!

If you've got ideas or any awesome photos of you and the clan out on a Trail then please share them on our Facebook page. It would be great to get see them!

Sometimes, All we Need is Just a Little Pep Talk...

His name is "Kid President" and he is taking over the world, one funny (& inspiring) video at a time!
So, there you go! I hope something here has put a smile on your face and you're now ready to fight the winter blues!

Wait, Before You Go!
