We’re on the search for the UK’s coolest and quirkiest curiosities, and want to hear why you Love Where You Live! This week, we’re asking you to shout loud and proud about your local… sayings!

From quirky words and curious sayings to full-blown phrases, we want to know what gets said around your way that might baffle the rest of the UK! We’ll pick our favourites to feature in our Strange Sayings blog post.

MISSION TWO Details

Your second MISSION is to rack your brains for those quirky words, curious sayings or odd phrases that only a local would use, but might have visitors scratching their heads! 

Can’t think of any? Keep your ears open when you’re next out in your neighbourhood and listen out for anything odd! Remember Agents, you’re on a secret MISSION, so keep your distance and act casual

Submit your word, phrase or saying, along with its meaning, via the form below. If you have a photo that sums it up, send us that too!   

Have a funny story about a misunderstanding due to unfamiliar phrases? We’d love to hear about that too! Add it to the comments on the form, and you could still make our ‘favourites to feature’!

All submissions need to be received by 11:59pm on Wednesday 11^th November. So, don’t delay – delve into your local dialect today!  

We’ll announce our favourites and share our Strange Sayings blog post on Thursday 12^th November, and we’ll contact all winners directly. We’ll brief you on the details of MISSION THREE then as well, so keep your eyes peeled!
