The Missing Masterpiece - Can YOU Help Solve the Museum Mystery?

The residents of Dedham are in an uproar; the museum has been robbed! The curators were eager to welcome visitors to their new exhibition of exquisite oil paintings. But, when the crowds reached the jewel in the exhibition's crown, they discovered it had been replaced with a picture of rolling hills… drawn in crayon! Not to mention the gift shop had all its hand-painted tea towels pinched too. Luckily, the chief suspect - Russell Sponies - isn't all that bright and drew the impersonating piece on the back of a map showing his favourite stash spots! While DCI Justin Case questions Mr Sponies, he's asked the team at the Exploration Society to track down the priceless paintings. Can you - our TOP treasure seekers - follow the Clues to pinpoint the place where the lost loot is hidden away?

What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Before you set off on your awesome adventure to explore Dedham, there are a few things you need to know...

The route is friendly for wheelchair users and pushchairs.

Bring your four-legged friends along! The route includes a park where your dog can have a run-around, but we recommend leads where the Trail comes to roads.

The closest long-stay pay and display car park to the Trail start point is the Mill Lane Car Park, just a minute's walk away.

Please check for any local events before setting off, as some clues may become obstructed or difficult to access during large outdoor gatherings.

There are public toilets available towards the middle of the Trail, at Clue 13. You can also stop here for a picnic.

Looking for more things to do in Dedham? Make a day of it and visit The Munnings Art Museum or Dedham Art & Craft Centre. You could even explore the area from a different vantage point by hiring a boat at taking a trip along the River Stour!
