A poetic treasure hunt

Celebrate World Poetry Day with a rhyming treasure hunt at home

The most famous poets across the globe are all desperate to be crowned best of them all at the World Championships. After a secret meeting in your area, each poet set off to try and win votes. They hid clues, said to lead to treasure, in houses on your street...and your house is one of them!

With help from grown-up explorers, mini treasure seekers can set off on a treasure hunt around their home, solving rhyming clues and having heaps of fun along the way. Simply download and print the activity sheet below, cut out the clues and 'treasure', and hide them in the right places, ready for your young explorers to find them.
